Homemade with Fairtrade - October

Join us on a journey of learning and experimenting with the surprisingly large range of Fairtrade sugars from around the world with a particular focus on Mauritius, Belize and Malawi. As well as recipes, tips and cheats, Fairtrade sugar farmers will be giving us a window into their kitchens and homelife.

Halloween icing tips

  • Meringues make great ghosts. If you have any black icing handy you can add eyes and mouth.
  • Remember snowball cakes? These also make great ghosts.
  • Make a pumpkin decoration for your cupcake using a round (or serrated) cookie cutter, orange and green icing. Cut the circle of orange and a green stalk to the top. Squires Kitchen have produced the first ever range of Fairtrade Sugar paste.
  • If you’re not the worlds best piper, try short words like “Rarr” “boo” “Eek”.
